Why we exist

ZipKit started because finding reliable answers about money and daily life in Thailand meant piecing together outdated blog posts, forum rumors and paywalled advisories. We build the tools and write the guides we wished existed: accurate, current, cited, and free.

What makes this site different

• Tools, not just articles. Calculators that compute your actual numbers instead of paragraphs describing math.
• Browser-local processing. Your data never touches our servers. No accounts required.
• Cited sources. Tax and legal pages reference Revenue Department orders, Royal Gazette items and official fee schedules — with "last reviewed" dates on every page.
• Updated when things change. Thai rules shift frequently (see our remittance law coverage). Pages carry review dates; stale pages get flagged internally.

How ZipKit is funded

Honest answer: affiliate commissions and nothing else. When you buy a VPN or open an account through some of our links, the provider pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. That funds the research and hosting.

What this means in practice:

• We disclose affiliate relationships inline on every page where links appear
• Comparisons are ranked by merit at time of writing — never by commission size
• We don't run display ads, popups, or sell data
• No paid placements disguised as reviews. Ever.

Editorial standards

• Tax/legal content cites primary sources and carries explicit "not advice" framing
• Unavailable information is marked as unavailable — never guessed or fabricated into fake precision
• Mistakes get corrected visibly with date stamps
